After waiting out the round of storms that soaked the South Bay during the last week of March, we were able to begin work on one of our newest projects. This modest, 1230 sq. ft, three bedroom, three bathroom home built in 1958 and situated on a quiet cul-de-sac in the Cambrian Park neighborhood of San Jose was in need of a little tender love and care. Our first challenge was to remove and replace the deteriorating door trim at four different openings – the front door, garage door, side door, and French doors facing the backyard. The existing trim was original to the home and our carpenter had to use all the tools in the toolkit to cut and install the trim pieces while keeping the appearance that blended with the original look. Once the carpentry was completed, our painters came through to do what they do best: making everything look perfect!
Their first challenge picked up where the carpenter left off and with a little caulking, patching, scraping, and sanding got the house ready for the finishing touches. A professional paint job is only as good as the preparation work done in the beginning. With four door openings all having new trim, they had to pay special attention to make sure all the imperfections were correctly addressed. When it came time for the painting, the homeowner had a specific type of green in mind but the samples we provided proved to be too green for their liking. The home owners sent us a picture of a house in the neighborhood they liked and asked us for the same color. This was all we needed and later that afternoon, we had our color match – Evergreen Fog – and we were on our way to making another customer admire their fresh and new paint job
